Why Locals Love Locanda Verde Tribeca

Locanda Verde Tribeca is a captivating Italian and brunch restaurant nestled in the heart of New York’s vibrant Tribeca neighborhood at 377 Greenwich Street. This culinary gem masterfully combines rustic Italian flavors with a contemporary edge, crafting an inviting atmosphere that feels both warmly familiar and excitingly refined. Whether you're joining for a leisurely weekend brunch or an intimate dinner, Locanda Verde delivers an experience that lingers long after the last bite.

The menu at Locanda Verde reads like a love letter to Italy, with standout dishes that showcase rich textures and brilliant, balanced flavors. Start your meal with the Caulilini Alla Grotta, tender cauliflower drizzled with savory anchovy vinaigrette and topped with crunchy anchovy breadcrumbs, awakening your palate with a perfect harmony of briny and earthy notes. Or perhaps indulge in the Rustic Potatoes, roasted with fragrant rosemary and Parmesan, exuding warmth and comfort in every bite.

For the main course, the kitchen excels in traditional yet inventive dishes — the AC’s Fire Roasted Garlic Chicken is a succulent masterpiece, its smoky garlic notes melding beautifully with a crispy, golden skin that promises pure satisfaction. Seafood lovers will be enchanted by the Ora King Salmon Alla Griglia, a delicate, buttery fillet paired with refreshing heirloom cucumber and pine nuts, creating a medley of textures and flavors that is both elegant and hearty. The Branzino Alla Griglia offers a delightfully light option with bright salsa gialla and tender summer squash. For meat enthusiasts, the Hanger Steak dressed with peppery arugula and herbaceous salsa verde is a perfectly balanced, savory indulgence that’s as visually stunning as it is delicious.

Vegetarian diners are not overlooked either — the Eggplant Sandwich, layered with creamy burrata, vine-ripened tomatoes, escarole, and roasted peppers, is a colorful and satisfying option packed with Mediterranean vibrancy. For a heartier handheld, the Shaved Porchetta Sandwich with grilled onions and melted provolone offers a rich and irresistible flavor profile.

Each meal concludes beautifully with a selection of Assorted Italian Cookies that provide a sweet, comforting finish, evoking the charm of an Italian nonna’s kitchen.

Beyond food, Locanda Verde’s atmosphere is a warm and spirited embrace — a place where the energetic buzz of Tribeca meets intimate, old New York charm. Among patrons, the friendly hospitality shines brightest; many glowing reviews mention the impeccable service, with standouts like Caiden at the bar who turns a simple drink into an extraordinary experience. The dining room hums with convivial energy, making it an ideal spot for celebrations, solo indulgences, or gathering with friends and family.

Locanda Verde Tribeca is a true treasure, praised repeatedly by longtime visitors who return time and again for its consistency in quality and heartwarming experience. As Julia Sui wonderfully puts it, "This place is a gem, a true delight for any day," capturing the spirit of a restaurant that transcends the moment and becomes a beloved part of your culinary journey in New York City.

What an amazing evening! I’ve had the pleasure of dining at this old New York gem a couple of times over the last few months, and Caiden at the bar has made it an extraordinary experience, even feel at home. I first came to Laconda with my family in 2012 for a birthday and had an amazing dinner. Now over 10 years later they still have some of the best Italian food, service, and drinks in the city. Caiden got me up to speed on the menu changes, and helped make this celebration unforgettable. Starting off with the champagne coutier and sheep’s milk ricotta— this combo will leave you dreaming about it for weeks to come. Other apps worth recommending are the exquisite (melt in your mouth) wagyu steak tartare and the perfectly balanced insalata Andrea. All of the mains are great, but Locanda prepares pasta like it’s Italy. Grandmas ravioli are delightful, although I wish it came with more sauce, and the lamb ragu papardelle is my favorite. Rich, delightful, creamy, I thought I was already full but devoured the whole plate. The prime NY Strip steak is fine but I’d recommend apps and pastas route to get the most out of the experience. I also must commend Caiden the bartender, we had the best espresso martinis of our lives with their home style creamy tiramisu for dessert. Thank you Locanda for holding what feels like golden age New York, with delicious food, amazing drinks, and undeniable service. Be back soon!

Came here for a solo brunch. The food was great. It might be a little pricey for a solo meal but if you want to treat yourself, you should!

This place is a gem, a true delight for any day, whether it’s sunny, rainy, or anything in between. I love the warm atmosphere and the charm of the restaurant. The service is quick, and the food is consistently delicious. I highly recommend everything on the menu: pasta, fish, steak, and all the starters are our favourites. Especially the beef tartare is absolutely outstanding!

The food and service were outstanding. The dining room was a little loud but will definitely go back. Great mix of sweet and savory dishes. Didn’t try the pasta, but it looked delicious.

At first I thought with the name it would be Spanish, but turns out it's an Italian spot in Greenwich. The appetizers were solid - the toasted bread with what looked like eggplant or wild mushroom (I'll ask the guy who ordered) was fantastic, tasty and a good treat. The lamb meatball sliders were top heavy and ok. Regular sliders probably would've been the way to go. Steak tartare was good. Gabagool and grana was capicola and and a hard cheese which was ok, but not easy to eat - heavy/oily. The pappardelle with lamb bolognese was ok, overly salty - ended up eating most of the pasta (some of the sheets stuck together, though, so that wasn't edible), and leaving much of the lamb bolognese (greasy, but better than the meatball sliders). Good thing - service was quick and efficient and knowing the business nearby (Citi) they asked us how fast we needed to be out - and they kept us mostly on-time, nicely enough. Decor inside was dark woods and bottles all over of liquor and wine. Bathrooms downstairs. They have some private dining spaces and they were packed at lunchtime on a Wednesday.

We had a great experience with Saturday brunch. Our group had the frittata, egg sandwich, steak and eggs, eggs Benedict and the sheep’s milk ricotta and crostini. It was all excellent. Oh and the Bloody Mary’s were classic!

This restaurant has a great vibe and an open kitchen which creates a really cool vibe. We started with the Steak Tartare and the Insalata D’Andrea, and they were both perfect. The steak tartare was truly amazing. I loved the egg on it. However, I feel like bacon is not necessary. For the main courses, we had the Scallops and the Duck Arrosto. The scallops were unbeatably good. They match perfectly with the lentils. It is such a good dish and definitely our favorite; the duck was good, but I think the meat could have been more tender. I also tried the Cappelletti Fizz cocktail, and it was really well-balanced. I really liked it, and I also tried the Vesper In Coat Tails. It was amazing but very strong. My partner loved it! Finally, for dessert, we ordered the Lemon Panna Cotta and it was very tasty. The service was very good, the staff were always very attentive It’s a great place with really nice food. I wouldn’t use it for a first date tho, because I feel like it can be very loud, so it’s hard to talk.
